Caulk, Sealants & Cleaners

Caulk & sealant are staples for home repairs. Both fill gaps and create barriers between different surfaces to keep pests, water, dirt, and air from entering your home. Caulk is commonly used to seal around trim, windows, and doors. It dries hard, allowing for it to be painted if needed. Caulk is usually used inside the home as it is not weather-proof. It is considered more of an aesthetic way of sealing cracks and gaps.

Sealants are used in high-moisture areas exposed to the elements and bathrooms. Sealants are flexible and made to expand and contract to help prevent cracks and spaces from forming or growing over time. They are most commonly found in the bathroom and kitchen areas where gaps need to be filled and need a watertight/proof seal. Caulk & sealants play a big role in protecting your home and keeping it beautiful.

Caulk, Sealant, & Adhesives for Every Fix

At American Mobile Home Supply, we carry different types of caulk, sealants, and adhesives, including the following:

  • Caulk: Available in specific brands such as Butyl, and can be used for general or specific projects. Available in different finish colors such as clear, black, white, and almond.
  • Sealant: Create water-tight seals with a sealant that expands to prevent larger gaps from forming. Most sealants are also mold-resistant.
  • Adhesive: Used to bond materials together and for decorative finishes.

Which Products Do You Need to Finish the Job Right?

The job you are doing will determine which of the above products (caulk, sealants, and adhesives) you will need.

For example, if you are completing a bathroom renovation, you will need:

  • 100% silicone sealant to use around wet areas such as showers, tubs, and surrounds. It will ensure a water-tight seal and protect against mold and mildew from growing in the bathroom.
  • When it comes to bathroom floor replacement or repairs, adhesives will bond the flooring and keep it in place. A  multi-purpose adhesive is a great option for this type of job.
  • Choose caulk to seal around cabinets, trim, and baseboards, based on the final look you are trying to achieve. Choose a color that complements the rest of the space. Caulk dries hard and adds a clean finish.
