What are CPVC Fittings?
CPVC fittings are pipe fittings made of Chlorinated Polyvinyl Chloride, which is a plastic material that is created by modifying (chlorinating) PVC (polyvinyl chloride) materials. This plastic is more durable and flexible, making it a top choice for those working in the plumbing industry. CPVC fittings are designed to withstand high temperatures, making them an easy choice for plumbing - especially for mobile homes. What are the Different Types of CPVC Fittings?
At American Mobile Home Supplies, we carry many types of CPVC fittings for mobile home plumbing repairs, including:- Tee Slip- Used to connect three pipes together.
- 45° & 90° Elbow- Both are used to change the direction of the pipes, either 45° or 90° respectively.
- Union- Connects two pipes together with a screw apparatus that can easily be opened for maintenance and cleaning.
- Coupler (coupling slip)- A slip that goes over the joint of two pipes to form a permanent connection.
- CPVC Female and Male Adapters- Connects CPVC pipes to other pipes while providing a leak-free seal. Male adapters have a threaded outside, while female adapters have a threaded inside, which ultimately connect together.
- Wing Elbow- Changes the direction of the pipes and water flow. One side of the fitting is threaded, while the other side has a slip joint. This is usually used to connect shower and bathtub fixtures.
- Reducing Bush- A transition piece that lets you go from a larger pipe diameter to a smaller one.
- CPVC Cap- Found at the end of the pipe to close it off or seal it.
What do I Need when Installing CPVC Fittings?
We carry a variety of other products to ensure a reliable, leak-free CPVC installation. You will also need:- pipe cutters to ensure the correct length and fit.
- CPVC cement is a must-have product for anyone working in plumbing. The glue chemically binds the pipes to the fittings to ensure there won’t be any leaks.
