Why Buy Metal Skirting for Your Mobile Home

Galvanized Metal for the Skirting

A zinc coating protects the steel from rust. The embossed block pattern looks like masonry, and you can prime and paint it any color.

Get the Panels and Trim Together

Skirting needs more than panels. J-rail and divider bars frame each panel and finish the edges, so order them with your panels. Fixing the walls too? See our mobile home metal siding panels. Choose Metal Instead of Vinyl

Pick metal if you want skirting that stands up to weed eaters and rough wear. Pick vinyl if you want lighter panels that cost less up front. Compare both on our vinyl skirting page. (Link "vinyl skirting" to https://americansupplyandairproducts.com/product-category/skirting/vinyl-skirting/)

Pick Up or Have It Shipped

Metal skirting panels and trim can be shipped nationwide or picked up at our 7 North Carolina locations in Fayetteville, Erwin, Sanford, Goldsboro, Winston-Salem, and Ramseur. Call 800-368-6208 to confirm availability at your preferred location before making the trip.

Four Checks Before You Order

Measure and confirm these four details before ordering your metal skirting.

Panel Height Against Your Opening

Measure from the ground to the bottom of the home at several points around the perimeter. Ground level can vary, so use the tallest measurement when ordering your panels. You can cut shorter sections to fit during installation.

Framing Already in Place or Not

Metal panels need a solid surface to fasten to. If you already have a 2x4 frame from an old skirting installation, check the wood for rot or damage before reusing it. If there is no framing, you will need to add it before installing the panels.

Fastener Type on Hand

Use sheet metal screws with rubber washers to fasten the panels and seal around the screw holes. Check that you have the right screws before starting the installation.

Corner Method Decided

Decide how you will finish the corners before cutting the panels. You can notch and bend the panel or use separate corner trim. Measure carefully either way, since an incorrect corner cut can waste a panel. Check our returns and refunds policy before opening your order.
